Times of great calamity and confusion have been productive for the greatest minds. The purest ore is produced from the hottest furnace; the brightest thunder-bolt is elicited from the darkest storm - Charles Caleb Cotton
One Hope During the time of COVID-19, we don't have two hopes. We have one Hope. Hope is being certain of a good outcome. Hope is being certain about what you expect. Hope is believing that something is pleasurable will happen in the future. Hope is believing that if I just wait for my change to come, God will show up. 1 Peter 1:3-6 says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..." We have Hope. Hope is for the present. It is often said that you and I can live without anything but Hope. God says that there is only one true Gospel. The true Gospel, the good news, is the answer to our troubles. When people are terrified. When folks anxious and don't know what to do. When you can't sleep at night. When we face hopelessness and are fearful of the unknown and the uncertainty. When stomachs are turning, and heads are aching, and we can't seem to keep our balance. Through all of this, we can know that God has given us the remedy. To get our balance back. To get our focus back. To get some peace. It is the Gospel—the good news.
